Racism in Entertainment

Racism is so prevalent in todays culture even though many think its dead. For many the signs are not as obvious as to others. Police Profiling, Court Rulings, heck even in Television and Movies nowadays. Lemme give an Example:

Setting: Urban Tenaments 

Character: Michael

Personality: Angered by his environment. Mentality Twisted from being raised in a broken home

Character Flaw: He must learn to trust to make it out of the hood, but has learned that in life no one is above backstabbing

Now let me ask you this... If this were the plot to a movie you heard about, What Race would you expect the Young Man to be?

Justification in Hypocrisy?

How do you feel about Hypocrites? Seriously, take 10seconds and say out loud what you really think about people who give advice they can't take and make rules they don't follow. Got it? Now apply all of that feeling toward yourself because there's at least a 99% chance you are a Hypocrite too. Most of you probably just IMMEDIATELY disagreed then made an excuse as to why it's okay when you do it... Ironic huh? Lets go through a few examples...

Religion: Hot Topic… Why?

Too often people cannot have civilized convo about religion without getting Hot Headed. Why is this? Simply put, there is no Universal Right Answer. Doesn't mean it can't be discussed and Debated and The way I figure it... If you can't tolerate other religions because of yours, then you clearly have the wrong one. Your faith/Lack Of Faith shouldn't be based on Proving all other solutions wrong, it's about yours being right FOR YOU. Big Difference.

I think too often people focus on all the differences as opposed to the similarities to search for Truth. People fear what they don't know, but then don't educate themselves on what they don't understand. I guess Ignorance is Bliss for those weak minded. No amount of education will hurt my Belief in My God... it CAN'T. If you do not believe that then maybe you should reevaluate your Views on Religion. But I want to make a list for those who want to engage to assist in keeping the discussions civil...

Now I have to admit the 1st time I heard "Mosque at Ground Zero", as someone whose father worked in the Twin Towers, I almost flipped out out of Pure Ignorance... but once educating myself I was able to be more understanding. Moral: There are 3 Sides to Every Story, What He Said, What She Said and the Truth.

Memorial of Murdered Officers Vandalized

 

 

Two officers, murdered in the line of duty, have their memorial vandalized...WHAT?!?!?

This story just pissed me off and dropped my faith in people that much more. Of course, I'm sure there could be a ton of factors that the people who did this will use to justify this action, but what kind of world do we live in where a memorial is no longer sacred? It wasn’t even a memorial made by police, but by people of the community. The cowards who did it are probably affiliated with the man who is on trial for both murders and did it out of pure spite, but it is just uncalled for. Whether you are religious or not, allow the dead to rest in peace.

Domestic Violence: It’s Not Your Fault... Kinda

 

I get home at midnight to see a report of a “man” who used a machete to hack his girlfriend up in the living room, in front of her children. What in the hell is going on in the world? At first it was just another random act of senseless violence in the news that it would seem everyday people are completely desensitized to, but there was one thing that stood out to me that applies many women I know...

 

 

 

 

 

 

When you are dating a crazy dude and he does something crazy - how are you confused? I'm not saying she deserved this, because no one does, but the children say this isn't the first time he's threatened her/them with a weapon. Ladies, I know that "thug" type dude is probably very appealing, but understand he cannot turn that crap off. If your dude keeps a machete, gun, functional sword, etc. in the crib, then "Love Don't Live Here No Mo'". Get out while you still can without the help of a Forensic Scientist.

Parent vs Child: Who's In Charge?

         
Have you ever seen a child, a young child, screaming at, Throwing fits and cursing out a parent? This is by far one of the most unacceptable forms of behavior I've ever seen...... from the Parent. How in the world are you letting a toddler berate you while you try to find ways to pacify them by giving into their Terroristic Demands? Who is in charge here?

The Oscar Grant Story...

For those of who have not heard of a man named Oscar Grant, he was a 22year old African American who was partying with his friends on New Years in 2009 in Oakland, CA and while handcuffed, face down on the pavement, with three cops on his back, he was shot and killed by a 28year old Police Officer with 2years on the force who "mistakenly" grabbed his Gun instead of Tazer.

Celeb Status?

 Celebrity: (noun) the state or quality of being widely honored and acclaimed

Personally I think a celeb status should come like a Driver License that has an Expiration date. Just because you were apart of something entertaining in the past doesn't mean you are interesting Today. Nowadays people think that if you are noticeable (good or bad) you are a Celeb and get this Aura of Self Worth without actually bettering yourself (i.e. Mike Epps, Lil Duvall, the Spots on Montana Fishburns ass etc). Fame and notoriety are the leading cause of lackluster performances in my opinion. Once some people get that, they feel like everything they do is/say entertaining and stop working on their craft.

Beasthood Incorporated is something I started for determined individuals who know the difference between Reasons & Excuses. Things in life will hit you at the most unexpected times and what I've noticed is that lack of Preparation is the reason we take so long to get back on track. Therefore, your biggest enemy... is You. You can now begin to sit there and think to yourself, "This negro don't know me" and come up with a billion and one EXCUSES as to why you aren't at least on the path of where you want to be, OR... you can name the very few REASONS why and then formulate a plan to overcome them.
